Intro
The Botanic Garden of 17,5 hectares is one of the most beautiful gardens with collections in Hungary. It was founded in 1922 after that the Kolozsvár University was moved to Szeged. Its sights: the lake planted with the Buddhists saint flower, the special Indian lotus in 1932, the surrounding rock-garden, the rose-garden and the Szechwan ancient pine - rarely occurring in Europe. Its main entrance is decorated with Transylvanian gate carved by Transylvanian masters on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of foundation.
