Directorate of the Kiskunság National Park

Intro

The Danube-Tisza River is one of the most varied landscapes of the flat in Hungary. Founded on January 1, 1975, the NATIONAL PARK of Hungary is the second national park in Hungary. Its aquatic habitats are covered by the Ramsar Convention and are increasingly protected. The KNP Board of Directors oversees 25,065 hectares of nationally protected areas: sand dunes, sandy plains, marshes, backwaters and floodplain forests of the Lower Tisza Region. In Csongrád County there are three landscape protection districts managed by the Board of Directors: Pusztaszeri, Körös and Mártély.
