Intro
The mosaic area KÖRÖS-MAROS NATIONAL PARK, and the Directorate for Nature Conservation Management, was established as the seventh national park of Hungary on January 16, 1997 in order to preserve the natural and landscape values of South Tiszántúl. Two of its territorial units, Cserebökény and the Maros floodplain, are located entirely in Csongrád County, while the White Lake of Kartoskút and the Csanádi-puszt are part of Békés County.
