Olympic oak

Intro

The oak on the square in front of the former civilian girls' school, at the junction of St Imre's Prince Street and Petőfi Sándor Street, is a gift from Márton Lőrincz. He won a gold medal in the wrestling wrestling at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, and donated his seedlings to his second hometown, Szentes. It was solemnly planted in spring 1937.
