Intro
The Gerliczy family obtained the territory of Deszk and the surrounding settlements over 210 years ago. Baron Ferenc Gerliczy had the eclectic castle built in 1884. The building today accommodates the Specialised Hospital of Thoracic Diseases of Csongrád County.
The unique atmosphere of the castle gardens (earlier 18 acres, now 7 hectares) is provided by protected English oak trees, garden paths, groves, a lake and statues by Imre Varga, Károly Vass and Ferenc Kovács.
