Intro
Slano Kopovo is located in northern Banat, 5 km northeast of Novi Bečej, with the roads Novi Bečej–Novo Miloševo and Novi Bečej–Bašaid being its borders. It is one of the representative, still preserved, Pannonian regions. This salt lake is of exceptional natural value in geo-morphologic, hydrological and micro-climate aspect. Slano Kupinovo is one of the most important and most unique bird habitats in Serbia and Europe. Its value is reflected in the nesting of atypical species for the Pannonian plain.
Slano Kopovo regularly provides for the survival of more than 20,000 wild birds each year. The reserve is managed by the Novi Bečej Hunting Association.
