THE CASTLE ON PEARL ISLAND

Intro

The Castle on Pearl Island was built by Baron Gedeon Rohonci in the late 19th century. It is located in the natural environment of the bayou, the so-called Dead Tisza, suitable for growing vines. This is where the best quality Krokan wine orginates from. The castle is a multi-storey building with stylistic features of Classicism. The dimensions and style of the castle on Pearl Island make it a valuable object, especially in the ambiance marked by the proximity to Tisa and vineyards. Today the castle is in poor condition, but renovation is expected. Pearl Island and the castle were rented by the grandson of Gedeon Rohonci, who is trying to win the case for his inheritance.  Krokan wine production has been restored. The castle is registered as a cultural asset.
