DUDVARSKI CHAPEL ADA

Intro

The oldest Serbian families who settled in Ada during the Great Migrations of Serbs under Arsenije Čarnojević were: Dudvarski, Nikolići, Marjanovići, Sijački, Sedmakovi (the seventh inhabited), Jakovljevići and others. In 1751, former lieutenant Nikola Dudvarski, his wife Marta Lukina, the children Petar, Joka and Ana, received the noble title with the coat of arms. The patron of the construction of the Dudvarski chapel at the Orthodox cemetery in Ada is Petar Dudvarski (Georgije's son) and his wife Poljka, nee Riđički. The Chapel dedicated to the Transfer of the relics of St. Father Nikolai at the Orthodox cemetery in Ada was built in 1892. Inside is the iconostasis, which is most likely the work of a local anonymous author.
