The Linguistics Days are held in Ada since the 1970s. At the beginning biannually, and since 1993 every year in October. The Linguistics Days are an international Hungarian language event which aims to nurture tradition, respect and preserve cultural and historical heritage, as well as promote contemporary achievements in linguistics. The event lasts for three days. The program of the event includes scientific lectures in the field of linguistics, language games for elementary students and oratory competition for high school students, competition in the field of linguistics in three categories, exhibition, laying of a wreath on the memorial of Sarvas Gabor, literary evenings and theater performances. The guests of the event are professors of linguistics, writers, musicians from the country and abroad.
