The aim of this event is the synthesis of two important events for the citizens of the Municipality of Kanjiža, on the one hand, one of the most important national holidays of the Hungarians – the St. Stephen Day – and on the other the holiday of the new bread, as a celebration of life. The international character is represented by traditional program elements – the obligatory part of the program is a liturgy in Orthodox and service in the Catholic Church where the Orthodox and Catholic priests sanctify new bread. In addition to the performances of cultural and artistic associations from the Municipality of Kanjiža, dance and music groups from other countries perform on stage and provide an unforgettable experience. The central ceremony takes place at the Main Square of the city, and besides the traditional part of the event, along the Main Street, workshops of handicrafts are organized.
