Intro
Stevan Sremac, an eminent Serbian writer, was born in this house in 1855.
In order to preserve and improve the Serbian cultural heritage of the town of Senta, as well as memories of one of the greatest Serbian writers and the integration of all contemporary segments of the Serbian homeland culture of the city, preserving and nurturing the Serbian language and tradition of the local Serbian community, Stevan Sremac Homeland Foundation is located in the renovated house of the great Serbian author (since January 1, 2017, the same institution has been functioning under the name Stevan Sremac Serbian Cultural Center).
