The old town's centre long-ago almost entirely surrounded by the rivers is situeted 1 km or so from the Kossuth square. This part of the town with its zig-zag small streets, 200-250 year old mud-walled, thatched-roofed fishermen's lodges and smallholders; houses is the only settlement-sized group of traditional folk buildings on the Southern Great Plain,
