MEMORIAL CHURCH OF THE LITTLE ST. THERESE OF LISIEUX, SENTA

Intro

The church was built between 1996 and 2017, in commemoration of the Battle of Senta and the Little St. Therese, according to the plans of Vilmoš Tot, an architect from Kanjiža. The building exhibits puritan simplicity. Separate church towers resembling the Arc de Triomphe mark the victory, and the domes are reminiscent of the formal and structural solutions of the architect Imre Makovec. The real decoration inside the church is the wooden structure and the ribs of the dome. Three church towers symbolize the three-hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Senta, and the three domes are like buds sprouting from the earth and symbolizing the future, a new life.
