Intro
The Palace of Justice (court and prison building) is located within the cultural-historical spatial unit of the old downtown of Zrenjanin, built between 1906 and 1908. At the competition of the Ministry of Justice in Budapest, the Budapest architect Sandor Eigner received the first prize for the project of the county court and prison. With its purpose and size of the building, it testifies to the increasing role of the Veliki Bečkerek as the administrative and regional center of the Torontal County.
