Intro
According to the legend, the theater was created with the immense love of a wealthy Zrenjanin man for a famous Pest actress. In order to bring her closer to him and to the city, in 1839 he converted his wheat warehouse to a theater. It is the oldest building of this type in the country which has the same purpose to this day. Since 1946 the theater has had its own ensemble that works on three stages: drama, chamber and puppet.
