MARCZIBÁNYI CASTLE – LEDERER – ČOKA

Intro

The castle was built by the Marczibanyi family, after 1781, when Lerinc Marczibanyi bought the Čoka pasture. The construction of the castle was completed by the next owner, Karoly Schwab, around 1870. Arthur and Caroly Lederer bought the property at the end of the 19th century. The estate stays in the possession of the family Lederer, one of the richest Jewish families at that time until the Second World War. During the Second World War, the castle was in the possession of occupation forces. After the war, in 1950 the Čoka agricultural farm was established here and it still uses the castle as an administrative building. The building is in good condition. The castle is a cultural monument of great significance. The castle is not open to visitors.
