PLEBANIJA AND MUSEUM - SENTA

Intro

When St. Stephen's Church on Main Square burnt down in 1911, the reconstruction was abandoned, and the solution to the problem of building a Catholic church in the center of the city was found in the formation of the chapel in today's Plebanija Palace. The chapel was expanded at the beginning of the 70s and still functions today. The Plebanija Palace was built between 1907 and 1909 according to the plans of Domokoš Berzencei, the city's main urban planner, in New Baroque and New Renaissance style. The architecture of the building is ceremonial and a characteristic element of the Main Square. The building houses the City Museum.
